Accursed Lands' Races In Accursed Lands thirteen seperate races have come to sentience. All have their strengths and their weaknesses. Some crave power, some peace others just a niche, an identity, a sense of belonging. Here is a bit of information on each one.
Atlasia
Aquaepura
Braman
Gargoyle
Goblin
Human Humans are a large strong race of bipedal
omnivores, reaching an average height of two meters. Humans tend to live in clusters,
forming towns and cities and developing societal norms and governments. As a group, the
are just barely beyond barbarism and are never quite united. Although they purport to do
many things for the "common good", most of their acts can be traced back to
their pervasive self-interest. Individual members range from quite resourceful to
downright catatonic. As a group, they tend to be fearsome of the unknown and quite
superstitious. They possess an average aptitude for magic. Ha'alk Ha'alks are bipedal carnivores, averaging about five feet in height. They have feather and down covered bodies, two strong wings, and a sharp beak. They were created as agile aerial warriors by the Rowans, and are also renowned as fine woodcrafters. As a people, they are rather purposeless and drifting, but are seeking an identity and niche for their race. Their only fear is that they will never find this place in the world they seek for their people. Ha'alks hate the Rowans for using them in the Spyder/Rowan wars and then casting them aside without any acknowledgment for their contributions, and they hate the Gargoyles for the losses they sustained at their hands during the wars.
Lellowyn Lellowyns are very small bipedal herbivores, reaching only a foot in height, and all are female. They have smooth, soft skin and hair on their heads, and two wings for flight. The twelve tribes of Lellowyns live in the jungles and forests where they can blend in with the environment. Lellowyns produce fine clothing and art, most of which depicts magic. They are a very joyous race and serve to oppose the evil forces of the Black Blood in the world. Their only fears are failure at supplanting these evil forces, and they also fear large races, as they can so easily be crushed. Lellowyns have an excellent ability in magic. Livathi Livathi are large aquatic carnivores with six arm-like tentacles, and long eel-like bodies covered in small scales. They can move about and breathe on land, but are much more at home in the aquatic environment. Feared by many races, they are indeed formidable in temperament and stature. Livathi are very accomplished at art, especially creating jewelry and sculpting. Livathi are quite narcissistic and they live for today. They fear cold places and some are skittish about coming out on land. Their only hatred, which is very strong, is toward the Aquaepurae, their archenemies and territorial competitors. Livathi have a slightly above average aptitude for magic.
Molok Moloks are hairless, bipedal omnivores, reaching an average height of five feet. They are broad and muscular with rodent-like features and a thick tail. Moloks have an extremely strong work ethic, and are quite well suited for hard manual labor. They are cave dwellers and see best in darkness. Moloks are a fearless race, not even fearing death itself. Moloks loathe their creators, the Kiisici, and they loathe magic as well. They have almost no ability at all for magic.
Myssra Mysrrae are fur-covered, bipedal carnivores, displaying many colors and patterns of fur. As a race, they are slightly below average in size and in strength. Majestic and lithe, the Mysrrae are very egotistical and live by attitude. They tend to be either noble warriors or rather self-indulgent individuals, interested in the joy of grooming and napping in the sun. They tend to be loners and greatly fear the water. They are very religious and believe with all fervor in the superiority of their race. They are genetically programmed to hate Kiisici and they possess a slightly above average aptitude for magic.
Rowan Rowans are photosynthetic quadrapedal beings with a trunk-like body and five tentacle-like arms. They have thin green skin, which is quite sensitive to heat and cold, and they have poor vision. Rowans are very intelligent and make fine craftsmen. They fear the wrath of their enemies from the Spyder/Rowan wars and the final destruction of their empire, which is now in shambles after the wars. They fear that magic may no longer afford them the protection they once enjoyed, especially with the counterforces of the Lellowyns now in play. They also fear the dehydrational effects of salt water on their sensitive skins. Rowans hate Spyders, above all else. They also hate the tiny Lellowyns for meddling in the world of magic and threatening the Rowans' magical power base.
Kiisici Kiisici are arachnoid omnivores with four
arms and four legs. They stand about four feet high and have black skin and four compound
eyes. They survive and thrive on chaos, which is evident in their building structures and
the chaotic magic they practice. Kiisici produce objects used to enhance magic spells, but
they try to keep these exclusive for their own race's use. They only fear anything that
threatens their rational thought or sanity. Their only true hatred is for the Rowans, and
this dates back since the two races first interacted. This is due to the contrast between
the philosophies of these two powerful races.
